America’s 250^th birthday: Unity or political divide?

The document under study is a news report published on Sky News on July 4^th, 2026. It is about the celebration of America’s Semiquincentennial. The celebration that should have been a tile for the nation to unite, we learn that Trump decided to create his own organization program through Freedom 250 in contrast to America250 that had been organized 2 years ago by Congress. Moreover, we can hear some patriotic statements: one lady says that she loves the president and the country saying it is the greatest country of the world. Furthermore, if there are people against the values or the image of the country they should leave. On the other hand, we can also hear political statements, with one man accusing Trump of polarizing the country: anyone who supports him shows their love to America, on the other hand, anyone who does not love him means that they hate America. Besides, Trump is trying to put his name of everything and he even succeeded in taking control over the celebration to make it his own benefits (Freedom 250).

To conclude, in a celebration such as Independent Day where everyone/every citizen should be united to enjoy this time, the country is deeply polarized. It was as if the president was trying to put people against one another.
