Unit 4: Enriching Exchanges (1ère AMC)
(At the following of what we did last time)
Conclusion:
To
conclude, through these documents, we have seen how online
courses affect social interactions and can also have an impact on the future of
the students: because of the lack of social interactions, some students can
feel isolated and less motivated to pursue their studies. On another hand, for some students online courses can
be an easier way to study for convenient reasons. This way of studying can lead
to telecommuting/teleworking once these
students get into the work force.
Homeschooling
in Australia
The document under
study is an extract from an article from the Weekly Times, published in April
2020. It is about homeschooling in Australia and how it has become more and
more popular among Australian families. We can read about the testimony of
Lee-Ann Bright who is a homeschooling teacher in Australia who teaches children
living in remote areas (small villages in the
countryside far away from big cities).
Australian schools
have less and less pupils because Australian parents prefer homeschooling their
children.
Opinion: homeschooling can be compared to online courses, in the fact that there are no interactions with other students. The only difference is that the pupil has a direct and private interaction with their teacher.
Homework: Learn the lesson.
Be ready for the synthesis that you will have to do in class on Monday March 24th.
