The document under study is an
interview of Michelle Obama, former Frist Lady of the United States (FLOTUS),
talking about her childhood and how her parents raised her. When she was a
little girl, she wanted to learn faster to play the piano than her aunt wanted
her to. It shows that she had strong leadership skills at a young age. Growing
up, her parents told her that her voice was relevant and her opinions were
meaningful, and that her feelings were real. Moreover,
they told her that her voice should be heard and that she should feel free to
speak her minds whenever she wished to. In fact,
her mother was always telling her and her brother that she was raising adults
and not babies.
