Unit 4: Black Lives Matter (Tle G1_gr1)

 Making History

The document under study is a timeline of all the first achievements made by famous African American figures who made history through their actions. These actions are considered as being significant landmarks for the community.

The most impressive one is Barack Obama being elected the first African-American president in 2008 because the US is known to have a difficult history regrading black people. Therefore, for Obama to be able to win more than half of the Electoral College was a great achievement at the time.

Ruby Bridges, as being the first black child to get in a white school in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1961 was also a remarkable event. It showed that education is key to success; every child should have access to the same opportunities.

All these achievements were meant to show that everyone should be treated equally no matter their skin color.

To conclude, all these events show a form of improvement in the American society to accept African Americans being in important positions with great responsibilities.  All these people had to be brave enough in order to accomplish such important deeds. It helped the African-American community to always go further and to not be afraid to succeed.

Homework: Learn the lesson.

Choose another African-American history maker and present them briefly orally.
