(at the following of what we did last time)

In 1613 Pocahontas was kidnapped by the British settlers. There, she met John Rolfe, a tobacco planter. They got along well and decided to get married in April 1614. Their goal was to create a peaceful union and cohesion between the two peoples. As a result, Pocahontas decided to become a Christian and changed her name from Pocahontas to Rebecca, a biblical name which means “Mother of two peoples”. They had a son in 1615 named Thomas, born in Virginia.

Then, in 1616, they decided travel to England in order to meet King James I. There, she was considered as a Princess and an Ambassador of the New World. Unfortunately, she contracted a severe lungs illness due to the pollution that was present in London because of industrialization. She could not even go back to her home land to be cured, she died in England at the age of 22 years old.
