Unit 2: No Thanks, No Giving (1ère Générale)

Black Indians

The document under study is an article from powwows.com, published in 2022. It deals with Black Native Americans and their history as Afro-Indigenous People. We have learned that Black Indians are different from African Americans and Native Americans because genetically, they have Native American and African genes. Indeed, their ancestors got together and had children.

The reason why we do not know a lot about them is because historians never took the time to research and explore the history of Black Native Americans because it was not important nor interesting for them. Nevertheless, Black Indians are definitely an important part of American history and culture. Indeed, this community still exists today.
