Eventually, the Canadian government acknowledged to have committed a cultural genocide through these schools. Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister, even made amends to the Aboriginal community. The latter were very happy and moved about this apology. Moreover, they also felt relieved now that their situation have been legitimized, they know it will never happen again. As a result, there was the creation of the truth and Reconciliation commission to better assimilate Aboriginal peoples into the Canadian society.

To conclude, even if the Canadian government is trying to help Aboriginal community there are still conflicts between these peoples and the rest of Canada.
